Yesterday I got back from a flying visit to Glasgow to see my pal Lucy. It was lots of fun and great to visit her in her adoptive home city fort he next couple of years. Here are the headlines:
- She picked me up from the train station and we went to look around her university (fun fact: it looks like Hogwarts and someone was getting married there so there were some lovely white cars) before going to the West End to do some shopping. We came across a lovely record shop and bought a Mama Cass vinyl for her sister.
- We had dinner at Carluccio’s. Both of us had the lasagne because it’s the best lasagne ever. We sat at the bar due to lack of tables and I had a voucher so we got one lasagne free! Yay for vouchers!
- We went to the Citizens Theatre to see Miss Julie starring Louise Brealey. Spoilers: It was amazing and a review will be up soon.
- My second train on the way back had all reservations cancelled so instead of a window seat in the quiet coach, I sat on the floor of in-between-compartments bit for two hours. That was the only not fun bit of the trip.
I had an absolutely wonderful time and I feel very lucky that I have such marvellous friends up and down the country who will let me sleep on their floors and go see amazing theatre with me.
Lots of love,
